What's your definition of busy?
Doing a great deal and having a lot of things to do in the space of time given.
That totally explains me in the last couple of weeks.
Tangled up in countless September birthday celebrations and running around to prepare Pamela's Hen's night & Wedding, it's been 1 month and 11 days since I've done a proper entry. You could say that I was being lazy, BUT I was really really really very busy too. I could hardly get enough of rest, and when I did the next thing I knew, there was something else to prepare for and I just couldn't find ample time to sit down like I am right now, all comfy leaning up against the wall of my bed, with my cup of herbal tea next to me ready to rant on about the recent events that happened in my life.
SO HERE I GO . . .
About one month ago, (in order) birthday Girl Perlin turned 19 on the 19th of September, Jay Joel turned 21 on the 21st, my sister Denise turned 23 on the 24th, Mom & Dad celebrated their 27 years of marriage on the 24th too, Jovene turned 19 on the 26th, AND my Baby, he turned 24 on the 26th as well!

Perlin's favorite- Nothing beats East Coast's Lagoon's Seafood,
And the night ended with Cake & beer @ Beach Cabanna

Stopped by Jay Joel's 21st at Pasir Ris Aloha. It was a little messy, smelly and sticky.
But I was glad to see JJ so high and yet so happy :)

Still a sweet couple despite the ups & downs during their 27 years of marriage.
And in the next picture, Baby & Jie posing L, for LIBRA, not loser.

Complimentary Cheesecake on the house. Sometimes, having connections wherever you go isn't a bad thing ;) Thanks Sis.
On that same night, I rushed down to Bobbys @ Cuppage Terrace to meet up with the Girls to celebrate Jovene's 19th. I couldn't make it for dinner obviously, but sure made it for drinks with my hot babes.

The clock strikes 12! Happy Birthday Babies!
(Okay I have no idea why Keong reacted to my kiss that way)

I could tell from his reaction when I got up to kiss him after I wished Jovene, that he was actually kinda touched but shy at same time. Secretly, I messaged him a simple "Happy Birthday Baby!", although I was sitting right next to him and he replied "Thanks hon, I can't believe you remembered!" I mean, how could I have forgotten?!! To him, a birthday is just being another year older. But to me, it's a time to be thankful that you're alive and well, and we should always cherish those who remember as they're the ones who end up celebrating with you each year, be it family or friends.
It was back to my place that night. And as soon as he thought there'd be no more surprises, I handed him 3 more! I pre-ordered this sugee cake made by this really really OLD Eurasian lady who bakes the cakes in her own house, pretty cool that she's still able to move around! Loved the powdered sugar on top! I also baked blue berry muffins to have for birthday breakfast.

And this is the VERY first page to our scrapbook.

He had told me before hand that we would be driving in to JB to service our car on his birthday and I was fine with it (at first). So we woke up pretty early that morning and to my surprise, we had spent about a good whole 7 hours in JB, 1 hour for lunch and about 6 hours at the workshop. Although I was almost gonna lose my temper with how slow the Malaysian mechanics worked, I was surprise that I could force myself to keep my cool and kept repeating what Dear had mentioned to me earlier that morning, "After all, we are 'spending' time together, having each others company at the workshop, aren't we?" I guess he was right, I'd rather be the one there, accompanying him, than he be alone, at the workshop, on his birthday.
Reservations at Quentins, the Eurasian Restaurant at Ceylon Road was at 730pm, but I managed to pushed it back 1 hour and we went back for a shower and a change of clothes before reaching there just in time. I wanted to bring him there as I've never been there before and it would be his first time trying Eurasian food. The two of us are foodie fanatics so I thought it would be sweet if I shared a little Eurasian heritage with him. Great Alfresco dinning, very cozy and quiet. We had the Shepard's Pie for appetizer. And for main course, the huge serving of Beer Se'more & Sambal Eggplant with rice. Finally for dessert, The Eurasian Cheesecake with coffee & tea.

At first, I decided to create a scrapbook of US and give it to him as present, but I then realized that we had too many pictures and I had too little time. So this birthday card will be the very first page to our scrapbook. And when I have the time, I'll fix up the many many more pages for the scrapbook, but the fact is that one book will never be enough to enclose all the memories we have together :)

I have tasted my aunt's and Mom's Eurasian dishes, however Quentin Pereira (the cook at Quentins) style of cooking is definitely different. But we were still satisfied with the generous serving of food, it was sure an eye opener for my Dear too. He loved the food and he told me I ought to learn from my relatives soon. (Anybody interested? The real authentic Eurasian cooking by my Mom, commences every Christmas.)

The day after, we had Lunch at Crystal Jade @ T3 with his family. More eating, YES. Dim sum wasn't all, we also had dessert at Swensons after. Well you see, you gotta understand that he has two younger siblings and his sis is attached to this guy who has a younger brother too. So when the whole family goes out, we're just like a miniature zoo stampeding over all the other people. But quite entertaining I would say, it's been a long time since I've been around kids.
After the birthday chain ended, it was time for me to get down to business: GETTING READY FOR PAMELA'S HENS NIGHT!
Hen's night commenced on Friday the 2nd (too bad it was Friday the 13th). The Girls and I went all out for this night as she was the first girl to get married in both the groupies. A week before the actual day, some of us thought of games to play that night and others focused on the props we needed to get to make the night more enjoyable. I was in charged of getting out tops printed, and till now I've worn it only once after hen's night, but I still think it's a piece of clothing I'll never throw away. (Memories of that night lingers forever, Pam!)
I'll just let the pictures do the talking. But I was warned NOT TO POST ANY UNGLAM (and I mean there are many unglamorous pictures from the games! omfg. fml.) PICTURES ON MY BLOG OR FACEBOOK, so yeahhh. This is as far as anything goes...

The oh-so-famous-i-cant-stop-laughing-when-i-see it CANDY PENIS!
Second stop: Attica, where we got free entry & a few rounds of shots. :D
As you can tell, some of us looked quite gone (but happy) in the last few pictures. Awesome awesome night, a totally unforgettable night filled with laughter, happiness & definitely quite a lot of alcohol for some. Not gonna go into much detail now.
Oh, and I forgot to mention. In the midst of me preparing for Hen's night, it was my Dear's first week of work at MOM. Yes, he has officially changed his job after being at Starhub for nearly 2 years. Well, why you may ask. Mainly because he wanted to look for a 8-5 job so he could further his studies by taking night classes. Also, he was just enlisted for reservist and the only way to defer it is if one had just started a new job OR if you are already at a 8-5, 9-6 office hour kinda job. Yeah, I KNOW, this government is just weird. So he has successful deferred his reservist and is about 1 month into this new job. The only downside about this job is that, we don't get to meet as often as we do in the past because he's office is located in Bukit Batok and I'm all the way in town. Roads in Singapore are just a serious way to practice your anger management during rush hour! Well, all in all the important thing that matters to me MOST is that he settles in the job first and the last thing he needs is for me to complain.
Meanwhile, the first and second week of October saw many meetings with the wedding event people and bridesmaids together with the bride & groom. I couldn't mention how much we were all so nervous about the wedding at first, but after each meeting, we finally manage to get things done. I would say we (bridesmaids) are quite efficient (more efficient than the groom's side), and let me repeat, planning a wedding is NOT AS SIMPLE as you think it is. I enjoyed it most of the time though, I find an interest in supervising the bride & groom, writing up proposals, and attending meetings of such with the hotels and vendors. After all, I did follow the bride to the gown fittings, and I did follow the bride to the pre-wedding photoshoot, I wasn't just gonna leave her at the actual day itself. I made a promise to stick with her till this whole event is over, and I did. :) More to come on the wedding in the next post, stay tuned!
In between, I managed to squeeze a day out during the second week of October to attend a dinner at my Muslim's colleagues home. She was so nice to invite almost the whole concierge team to her home for Hari Raya dinner. Although she was located in the West (Boon Lay!), we trained down together after work on a Friday night, and well, I certainly didn't regret that I did!

The two full timers at work + the two guys Dan & Hong.
At work, they go everywhere with each other. Kinda gay but in a cute way. lol.

And finally, the OC ladies (left), and a group picture.

We spent about 30 minutes in the restroom getting changed and preparing . . .

The reason why we're all so happy in the group picture is because, the supervisor wasn't invited! LOL! Work has really been different nowadays, the rules are a lot more strict and we are under the operations side, not the A&P anymore. I'm still thinking whether I should renew my contract for another month at the end of November. Politics after politics that create more gossips, it's never ending. It's not really a productive job and I've been working lesser each month. I do things that don't fit my job scope for the management and it's a day to day basis that I hope that time passes quickly so I can final take out that dirty green jacket and get out of the building. DO you sense something here? It's time for job hunting soon, VERY SOON!
I shall continue about the BIG DAY in my next post once I've received the pictures. I am VERY proud of myself that I actually managed to give this blog of mine an update. AND, I've gotten rid of my writer's block too. FYI, this post took me about 2 hours & 45 minutes to write, including time to upload the pictures as well.
Time check, 23:14.
Gotta prepare for bed soon!
